Power Query Tricks beyond the User Interface
    07th September 2022 | 10:05 to 11:00 hrs – Azerbaijan Time (GMT +4)

Power Query is a powerful tool to shape and transform your data. But you can take that to the next level if you learn simple M Language tricks that work beyond the user interface.

In this session, you'll learn highly useful M tricks that extend Power Query's capabilities to solve real time (and more difficult) data cleaning problems. You don't need any programming background. All you need is attention πŸ˜‰ This will be fun!

Topic : Smart Data Modeling Techniques to make DAX Easy

Masterclass Length : 2 days x 4 hours per day
    Date : 08th September 2022 & 09th September 2022
    Time : 09:00 to 13:30 hrs – Azerbaijan Time (GMT +4)

    Part 1
    - Relationship Mechanics & Data Modeling
β€’ Understanding Relationships in Power BI and their nuances.
β€’ Filter Propagation using One to Many Relationships.
β€’ Filter Context in Multiple Related Tables.
β€’ What is Data Modeling and why is it so important
    – Quiz

    Part 2
    – Case Studies - Solving Problems with Data Modeling (and minimal DAX)

β€’ Cast Study 1 - Staff Rotation – This is an excerpt of a staff rotation problem for a large financial institution with upwards of 50,000 employees.
    - The Problem – The financial institution needs to either change the location or job role of the employee at regular intervals to minimize fraud.
    - The Case – We’ll be required to flag employees which are nearing a location or job role change. And of course, our calculations need to be simple and fast.

β€’ Case Study 2- Budget Allocations – A commonly found problem is to analyze budget numbers along with actual sales data.
    - The Problem – Understanding equal and proportionate budget allocations and allocations based on last year.
    - The Case – Rather than writing sophisticated DAX, we’ll work with modeling approaches to creatively solve tough allocation problems.

β€’ Case Study 3 – Events in Progress (the classic from and to problem)
    - The Problem – A commonly found pattern in datasets which captures From and To dates and you need access to all the dates in between that period.
    - The Case – Again, we’ll solve events in progress problem by shaping the data rather than writing complex DAX.

    Ideal Audience
β€’ This is NOT beginner level training. Instructor won't teach you what is Power BI, what is Power Query & DAX etc..
β€’ Ideal for people who have already dabbled with Power BI and want to build a strong foundation on Data Modeling and a bit of DAX.
