  • About The Speaker

    Oakley's mother was a Cartographer & his father was a mathematician, so he was born into a world of both pictures and numbers. Growing up in Africa until the age of 10 and then moving to the UK with his parents and 6 siblings. On leaving school he joined the British Army as a Royal Engineer. One of the Units he served with made maps (not surprisingly given his background).

    He started training corporate customers on IT software (both off-the-shelf and bespoke) in 2006, having left the army.

    He soon became a key focal point for MapInfo training, being that wonderful combination of maps and data.

    He has built a solid reputation for himself as a patient and capable trainer, helped by a love of sharing his knowledge and experience with others. He is also the founder and primary trainer of Academy Training Solutions, a UK based training company, now offering training to corporate customers around the globe.
